Pre-Occasion Boost LED Facial

Facials pre and post care

To get the best out of your treatment, please read the below instructions carefully and follow them as strictly as possible to ensure your own health and safety.

01.

FOUR WEEKS

We recommend having this treatment no closer together than every four weeks, in order to allow the skin to complete its normal cycle.

02.

COURSE

Everyone's skin is unique, so it is difficult to say exactly how many treatments you may need. Some skin concerns may also take slightly longer than others to treat. We recommend 3 treatments with 4-6 weeks between them, or up to a maximum of 6 treatments.

03.

TOP UP

A maintenance top up treatment may be required annually.

04.

SUN AND HEAT

We advise you avoid exposure to sun and excessive heat for two weeks prior to treatment, including the day of your appointment and for three days after. This includes the use of sunbeds, sunbathing, steam rooms, hot tubs, saunas and heavy workouts. This is to ensure your skin is not overly sensitised.

05.

SPF

In some facials, the top layer of dead skin cells has been removed which can make your skin sensitive to light. SPF is your friend! Sun protection must be worn for three days prior to treatment. It is extremely important that you wear a broad spectrum, high level SPF for a week after your treatment.

06.

ROUTINE

You must keep your skin well moisturised for one week post treatment. After one week you should be able to return to your usual skincare routine, but it is advised you discuss this with your therapist to ensure you are not using anything counterproductive.

07.

SKINCARE

We are happy to advise you on the right skincare to use, however it is not going to be one that you can buy on the high street as it may be counterproductive to the treatment you have had. We will recommend what we use as this is what we are highly trained in, and feel that if we don’t give you the correct information you cannot make an informed decision on how to invest in your skin! But please remember that there is no pressure to buy!

08.

MOISTURISER

If, as part of your treatment, you have been given a treatment moisturiser and SPF please ensure that you use it. This isn’t just your therapist being nice (although they are lovely!), you’ve been given it because your skin needs the further protection and hydration after your facial. We are all about prolonging the benefits for you as best we can, but you will also need to play your part too.

09.

MEDICATION

If you are taking medications that are to treat skin conditions or medications that will make your skin sensitive, please make sure to speak to your therapist before the treatment commences.

10.

HAIR

Please do not arrive to your appointment with wet or damp hair.

11.

CHLORINE

Avoid chlorine for twenty-four hours.

12.

WAXING

Avoid facial waxing for seven days. Facial waxing may be performed up to a fourty-eight hours prior.

13.

FILLERS

Avoid dermal fillers and Botox/Xeomin for two to three weeks, both prior and post treatment.

14.

NO PICKING

Do not pick, scratch or aggressively rub the treated areas and try your best to avoid touching your face.

15.

HYDRATE

Up your intake of water! Yes, we know it's not as tasty as coffee, tea etc but water will keep you hydrated and is actually great for improving your skin's complexion. You've just had a facial - reap the benefits!

16.

NO SCRUBBING

No scrubs or cleansing brushes should be used for seven days post treatment.

17.

SENSATION

You may experience a slight windburn sensation, blotchiness and/or peeling. Your skin may also feel warm, tight, slightly itchy, dry and flaky during the first few days. This is completely normal.

18.

STINGING

A mild stinging/scratching sensation may be felt during treatment. This sensation should only last for a few hours.

19.

PRODUCTS

Skincare products may tingle for the first day. Your therapist will advise you on which products to avoid.

20.

REDNESS

You should expect to see some erythema (redness) immediately after treatment. This is normal and should disappear after 24-48 hours, dependent on your skin type and aftercare, to leave you with beautiful, glowing skin.

21.

MAKEUP

After your facial, it is recommended that you do not wear make up for a minimum of 12 hours. However, if you use a pure mineral brand, or would like us to apply a base application of Jane Iredale Mineral Make up, this would be fine.

22.

NUMBING CREAM

A topical numbing cream is applied in most cases and left to absorb into the skin before treatment commences.
