To get the best out of your treatment, please read the below instructions carefully and follow them as strictly as possible to ensure your own health and safety.
We advise you avoid exposure to sun and excessive heat for 24 hours pre and post treatment. This includes the use of sunbeds, sunbathing, steam rooms, hot tubs, saunas and heavy workouts. This is to ensure your skin is not overly sensitised.
In some facials, the top layer of dead skin cells has been removed which can make your skin sensitive to light. SPF is your friend!
We are happy to advise you on the right skincare to use, however it is not going to be one that you can buy on the high street as it may be counterproductive to the treatment you have had. We will recommend what we use as this is what we are highly trained in, and feel that if we don’t give you the correct information you cannot make an informed decision on how to invest in your skin! But please remember that there is no pressure to buy!
If, as part of your treatment, you have been given a treatment moisturiser and SPF please ensure that you use it. This isn’t just your therapist being nice (although they are lovely!) - you’ve been given it because your skin needs the further protection and hydration after your facial. We are all about prolonging the benefits for you as best we can, but you will also need to play your part too.
If you are taking medications that are to treat skin conditions or medications that will make your skin sensitive, please make sure to speak to your therapist before the treatment commences.
Please do not arrive to your appointment with wet or damp hair.
After your facial, it is recommended that you do not wear make up for a minimum of 12 hours. However, if you use a pure mineral brand, or would like us to apply a base application of Jane Iredale Mineral Make up, this would be fine.
Do not pick, scratch or aggressively rub the treated areas and try your best to avoid touching your face.
Up your intake of water! Yes, we know it's not as tasty as coffee, tea etc but water will keep you hydrated and is actually great for improving your skin's complexion. You've just had a facial - reap the benefits!
